Metaphilosophy and metaphysics, with clouds

[Update: I read once that if you want to be great at SEO, you should update your posts. Let’s see if that really is true. Anyway, Rooftop Philosophy in Phnom Penh, a salon, is TOMORROW. That would be THURSDAY. Yesterday and today our team has been inviting people we have met since the last one. (Which was, when I think about it clearly, half a year ago. That means, this isn’t the kind of thing that just repeats ad nauseum, it’s kind of based on the spur of the moment, one of us being in the mood, and happening to be here for the moment.) Now that I know I’m interested *only* in conversations with people who *show up* and want to *try things*, I go to where there is a critical mass of people who say ‘yes’ to my internet invitations. (Last one was this. Next is this.) But finding myself in Phnom Penh for this week, somehow, I’m here and I want to see if others are interested in connecting in the sky salon that is my favorite of the ones I’ve hosted so far in PP (Ennui, Beauty, Choices, Self, and so many others, over the last three years). So yes. In Phnom Penh, right now. Who’s coming? What will happen? As always, it’s an improvisation in Life Arts. To the journeys! See you there. —AS]

Noticing what’s here, where we are. Right now.

MEET ME IN THE SKY?

Get together with a very small group of people to talk about things that feel more interesting than the usual drone of:

  • ‘How long have you been in Phnom Penh?’ (yawn)
  • ‘What do you do here?’ (Why? Are you job hunting?)
  • ‘Where are you from?’ (How about ask me where I’m local?)

The idea. After a series of six really amazing ‘Rooftop Philosophy in Phnom Penh’ salons, limited to just a few people and small and informal in style, we bring back Rooftop Philosophy in Phnom Penh, this time the #7 edition. It’s going to be on Thursday, 17 August 2017.

Programme. Guided, prompt-led conversation. No experience or expertise necessary. This will be in English, but all are welcome. Light, relaxed, nice view. How to design space for great dialogue? Conversations that, I promise, will veer far from the vein of the above. That is the work of DK. Browse our past events on facebook or eventbrite to get a feel for what we are up to, here.

Tickets. USD $15 per person.

RSVP through the registration page, here.

Meetpoint and programme to follow, by email, for registered guests only. Including what to bring, what to expect, and a few hints on who else is coming.

Thanks!
A. Spaice

Rooftop Philosophy in Phnom Penh
‘Haven’t laughed so hard, or been so surprised, in the 4 years since arriving in PP:’ A. Spaice. Rooftop Philosophy #1 – #6 happened here. Some intriguing conversations, indeed. Same place for #7, on 17 August 2017.
