Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2026 (DANAFF)

The fourth Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) will take place from June 28 to July 4 in Da Nang City. It expects to have about 900 delegates, of whicb hmore than 200 international guests.

Desk noticed that some of hte time, events that are run by governments and institutions in SE Asia can be a little bit formal and tiresome, in that there are a lot of self-congratulatory remarks passed around, awards ceremonies and the like. Given that, you can’t really miss with a festival set in Da Nang, because… they have a beach. I’ve been to DN several times and really love the open-air vibe. People are friendlier than in Ha Noi and less busy than in Ho Chi Minh City, and yet you don’t have to have the sleepy oceanside town that you get in Vung Tau, say, or perhaps other places that I stopped by on the way up the coast one time. It’s hit and miss, like I said, with these festivals. So plan to go for at least one other thing: the food.
