Mirror | Memories, Versions of Self

‘I spent from age twenty-six to age sixty-six primarily in preparation mode. That’s forty years of primary focus on future security. Now that I’ve reached the age I was saving for, I have genuine financial comfort. But I also have something else: forty years of memories I didn’t make, experiences I didn’t have, and versions of myself I never became.’
