Japanese citizens scamming Japanese citizens in Phnom Penh? Wow. Now I’ve heard it all. This is the ‘article’ in the ‘newspaper’ that is the Khmer Times.
We used to have a joke in-house about ‘unsafe wherever you go’, a riff on what my mother used to say, ‘There are all kinds of crazy people walking around.’
Unsafe Wherever You Go was a refrain in a book, Schrodinger’s Cat, which I borrowed and didn’t return accidentally and loaned and didn’t get back. So that’s how things unfold at times. Not sure I would like reading it now, but back then, it influenced heavily.
In an era with real safety issues because of [insert all the stuff]… there’s so much more to say.
